KestrelSpec currently supports echelle spectrographs exclusively from two manufacturers:

• Optomechanics Research: OMR builds an echelle-type spectrograph called the SE 200 with a 200mm focal length, supported by the current version of KestrelSpec. Although we are no longer selling new SE 200 systems, existing customers with an SE 200 can contact Catalina Scientific if they need a software upgrade.
   
  The SE 200 spectrograph is calibrated using the unique "2-point" KestrelCal created exclusively by Catalina Scientific for calibrating an echelle-type spectrograph.
   
  The advantage of an echelle-type spectrograph is its ability to cover a wide range of wavelengths with high resolution in just one acquired image.
   


• Catalina Scientific: We build the EMU-120/65 echelle spectrograph that has the highest throughput of any broadband echelle instrument. The EMU-120/65 is designed for F/3 or faster input optics with such high etendue that it is versatile enough for both LIBS (Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy) and Raman applications.
   
  The EMU-120/65 echelle is calibrated using our unique "3-point" KestrelCal created exclusively by Catalina Scientific for this spectrograph. All new EMU spectrographs come with the KestrelSpec software, and existing EMU customers can contact Catalina Scientific if they need a software upgrade.
